alas, poor writing, I knew thee well

FF7AC: Blown Up
and music, and videos, and LJ icons and...a lot of other things

Well. It would have cost 2000 dollars to get everything off my computer. Obviously THAT wasn't happening. So I opted for "work files", which cost me 80.

This means, ultimately, I am saved from redoing over 100 hours of work (that's in the last six weeks. No idea how much the other two years of stuff took to make).

This also means I've lost almost 700 pages of writing. Including everything on the "novel" I've been writing for, uh, the past five years, as well as all the character and plot notes, and the 50-60 pages of world building. 60 pages of Death Games are also gone and...probably a good 50 pages of KHR stuff. At least the "Lavi" identity crisis fic only had 10 pages.

Not to mention all my media files.

Oh well. Work is what's important, right?

New computer was 1500 dollars. It's a cute little thing. Beige.

Edit: Oh, christ in a bucket! It appears that my Paint Shop Pro disk is damaged. And this computer didn't come with image editing software. DAAAAAMN!

pretties for the fangirl masses

FMA: cookies!
Well, uh, I got stressed. I went shopping. I never did that before I had access to pretty, pretty fangirlish things. In fact, I used to abhor shopping. Still not particularly fond of it except in anime goods stores. >_>

But, I got stressed. I went shopping. I bought a lot of things I didn't need. Then I scanned them for you with my dying (yes, the SECOND one) scanner.

There are several random picture links scattered throughout this post. See if you can find them all! )

Yoshiki photoshoot from SHOCKwave

RL - Dance
Apparently Yoshiki is doing things again. He looks remarkably good given that he's 42. Of course, when I first got into jrock I though he was the most beautiful man I'd ever seen.

To go with his new on-the-music-sceneness, he just did quite the photoshoot. Blood, straightjackets, cutting and dead...women. Bloody pianos, blood-filled bathtubs, and all sorts of fun stuff like that.

Scans of the magazine are behind this cut. Totally NSFW and if you have trouble with blood or suicidal imagery, or the Malice Mizer Illuminati video, you're going to have trouble with this.

Just...Not worksafe. Take note of that.

42 and still beautiful. Heavily made up, but when aren't jrock artists made up? )

Not entirely sure what I think about this X-Japan reunion thing, though. The old jrock bands seem to be doing a nostalgia thing, or are trying to hang onto their youth. Or something. Buck-Tick, X-Japan, Luna Sea.

Hoshi no Oujisama scanlation

Howl's Moving Castle: Warm Fuzzies
A while back I posted raws to the Minekura oneshot for the "Princes and Princesses" volume of the Arcana anthology. Crack with a goat and a girl.

Being very confused, and having many confused people about me, I decided to take it into a few fangirl haunts and ask around, to see if there was anyone who would give me just a basic translation. I didn't need word for word, I just wanted some idea of what was going on. To my surprise and delight, I found someone. She had no idea who Minekura was, and she didn't know me from Adam, but she happily offered to do it. Then, although I had made clear I only needed a basic translation, she went and not only did a complete translation, but turned it into a scanlation, too! Sometimes, I love the fan community. THere are some nice people in it.

But, anyway, I promised her that I would get this out to as many people as possible (although she said that even if only one or two people saw it, that would be okay), so here's the scanlation:

Title: Hoshi no Oujisama
Author: Minekura Kazuya
Summary: There are demons eating pocky and a talking goat, what more do you need?!

Pimp it around, please. While the girl seemed perfectly happy to be doing it for a small audience, or even just for me, I feel like I should get it out there. Plus....Minekura crack. What's not to love about Minekura crack?
Saiyuki: Gojyo!Freudian
As we are being deprived of Saiyuki in all its forms for several months (oh god Minekura please get better!), I figured I'd scan in and post downloads for the rather strange piece she did for the third Arcana volume, which was released back in May. From what I can tell, it hasn't made it online yet, although it's perfectly likely I just haven't been searching in the right places. If anyone knows where I can get the translation I'd be filled with gratitude.

But, anyway, for those who haven't seen it, if it is even see-able, here's the link to the scans I made tonight:

Source: Arcana v3: Princes and Princesses
Title: Hoshi no Oujisama (Prince of Stars)
