CBLDF put Persepolis on their banned books week recommendation list for Young Adults (along with the ever-present Maus, and Pride of Baghdad). After that whole fiasco where the idiot wanted it banned from her university class for being garbage, I would have to say I agree.

It always surprises me to look at the ALA lists, though, and see the large percentage of comics and graphic novels get challenged. It always makes me wonder if these parents are actually taking a proactive interest in what their kids read, or just squawking like angry hens when they just happen to look over and see a page...
